ABOUT UPABILITY
Upability was established in 2019 in Washington DC as a nonprofit to help the disabled. Our sense of purpose springs from the understanding of a lack of resources on the other side of the world. By bringing together established organizations and creating a larger awareness in our society, our goal is to make sure we maintain a consistent form of attention and treatment to the disabled everywhere.
THE VISION
It takes more than a healthy GDP and donations alone to find solutions to help those who are disabled. More than 15% of the world population suffers from a disability, and many lack the support and tools necessary to participate effectively in the world today. Our vision is to put forth an agenda that would bring essential resources in the hands that need them most.
OUR FOUNDER
Founder and CEO Sunita Sandidge, left her home country of Nepal and came to the United States at 20 years old. She immediately recognized the opportunities were much more prevalent and abundant for people here than they were back home. In 2008 she began her work as a project manager at Didlake Inc. working with people with disabilities. After 12 years, she decided to start her own company to help those with disabilities in countries like Nepal.
